A lil sneak peek of the story I've been working on A lil sneak peek of the story I've been working on recently. The madness of my brain sorted into a complex system of post-it notes and spreadsheets ๐Ÿ™ˆ

To give some context, my work-in-progress is a dual timeline story, which I've found is a killer when it comes to plotting ๐Ÿ•ฐ

If any other writers have experience writing a story with two timelines, I'd love to know how you plan and what your process is ๐Ÿค”

Do you work on both timelines individually first then weave them together later? Or write them in order of story beats, as they happen? Gimme all your tips! (Please ๐Ÿ™ˆ)

If you're looking for something to read before bed If you're looking for something to read before bed, this book is beauuutiful, heavy on the sloth contentย ๐Ÿฆฅย and the first poem is Titanic-themed. It's like it was written for me!

The perfect thing to read at night after watching too many crime documentaries...ย

This week has been busyyyyyy with client work, and This week has been busyyyyyy with client work, and I've been working on some really interesting projects for brands I'm excited to see grow, grow, grow ๐ŸŒฑ

I thought I'd take it back to basics this week with a blog I wrote a while ago on my website about 'Why Your Copy Matters'. Sometimes when I tell people what I do, I'm met with a blank stare - which is totally fine because not everyone knows what copywriting is.

If you're curious though, and want to know why copy is important for setting you apart and giving your brand a distinct voice, the link in my bio will take you where you want to go โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰
The shiny bit: Just got word that one of my short The shiny bit: Just got word that one of my short stories will be published in next month's Prima magazine ๐ŸŽ‰

The not-so-shiny bit: I wrote about fifteen pretty awful short stories in the last couple of months, and polished up 6 of them to submit to different magazines and journals, and this was the only one that didn't get rejected. Moral of the story... keep writing! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ“ท: Here's one I had published back in 2014 that's pretty cringey to read now ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think I've improved...
Pulling this old photo out of the archives because Pulling this old photo out of the archives because when you stay up all night to watch the Super Bowl, you are not camera ready!ย ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ณ

Last night I polished up the first three chapters of a manuscript for a competition I've been dying to enter, which took me about 2 weeks of sleepless nights and going back and forth between "this has potential" and "I need to burn this and start again". I'm sure more than one of you can relate.

I hit submit literally minutes before the deadline, andย then celebrated by watching the game and falling asleep right after The Weeknd performed ๐Ÿˆ

A great end to theย most manic week of writing I've had in a long time. Cheers to even more words written this week!ย ๐Ÿป
